It was April 6, 1975 when Derick Prince, an international bible teacher, made the statement that would come to provide the meaning behind Lisa Sutherland’s most recent painting, Eastern Glory Cloud.
Sutherland paints live in front of an audience once a month at Myrtle Grove Presbyterian Church in Wilmington, North Carolina. Her process for finding inspiration for her paintings begins with a prayer and a goal to create a piece that may touch and inspire her audience members.
The Inspiration for the Title Eastern Glory Cloud
Sutherland composed her most recent piece at Myrtle Grove without any prior knowledge of Derek Prince’s statement. After painting the piece live she was asked to lead a prayer. Her prayer included a statement very similar to Derek Prince’s statement from 1975.Eastern Glory Cloud Painting–Art Printed on Canvas
In 1975 Prince stated,
“I have found favor with you here in Eastern NC. I will personally visit you. There will be a revival greater than that of the great wales revival at the turn of the century. There will be kings and leaders who come from the north and south and east and west to study the Eastern North Carolina Phenomenon.”

The painting was then sent to Canvas Giclee Printing. Canvas Giclee Printing’s professional photographers use the Hasselbed HD4-50 megapixel system to produce a high resolution digital file. The photographer for Sutherland’s painting used special lighting in order to achieve visibility of the painting’s pallet knife details. The canvas print of the painting will be put on display in the Life Community Christian bookstore in Wilmington, North Carolina.
